Dr. Katherine Bray Murphy
Dr. Katherine Bray Murphy is an educator, curriculum designer, and civic education advocate with over two decades of experience in Kβ12 education. She serves as Chair of the Steering Committee for the Hidden Light Institute's Civics 250 initiative.
Dr. Murphy holds a doctorate in Education Leadership and has dedicated her career to developing rigorous, engaging civics curricula that connect constitutional principles to students' lived experiences. She is the primary architect of the Civics 250 four-module curriculum framework.
Her work has been recognized by the National Council for the Social Studies, and she has presented at conferences across the country on the importance of civics education in a polarized era.
Laurie Beth Nichols
Laurie Beth Nichols serves as Executive Director of the Hidden Light Institute, the national nonprofit organization co-founded by Senator Joe Lieberman and his family to advance his legacy of principled, bipartisan leadership.
Under her leadership, the Hidden Light Institute has developed educational programs, public events, and policy initiatives that carry forward Senator Lieberman's commitment to civil discourse, democratic values, and civic responsibility.
Laurie Beth brings extensive experience in nonprofit management, program development, and civic engagement to her role as a driving force behind Civics 250.
